Candidate for the Legislative Council
Anthony studied Sports Science at New South Wales University prior to commencing an 18 year career with the New South Wales Force as a Police Officer in both Metropolitan and Rural New South Wales. Anthony has chosen to run as a Candidate for the Australian Cyclists Party as a private citizen in the upcoming State election, as he believes that successive governments have not implemented a transport and infrastructure program that is able to cope with the current and future needs of the people of this state in an integrated and sustainable way.
Anthony is a firm believer in the maintaining a healthy work life balance, which includes maintaining good health through activity. In his teens and 20’s Anthony was a keen sports person and athletics coach, and was the Open age NSW State Champion in Decathlon, and represented NSW at National championships in Decathlon, Pole Vault and 110m hurdles. Anthony became involved in cycling in 2008 after a knee arthroscopy and soon saw the incredible health benefits that comes from riding this ‘freedom machine’ These days Anthony participates in Masters level road and track cycling to maintain good health and fitness and is an advocate for using active transport (walking and cycling) in conjunction with public transport to reduce the strain on our congested roadways and improve general health, and simply get people active again for better quality of life.
